Introducing Most Sacred Heart, Ruislip, RENEW
Programme
We're off! At the start of Easter, we in Ruislip started
the programme of Spritual and pastoral
renewal which the Holy Father has asked to be put in place in every diocese
worldwide.
You will already have seen, in a recent parish newsletter, a brief description
of what the Renew
programme entails. In this first issue of our special RenewS newsletter,
you can learn more about what will be happening, and how you can be involved.
It’s for YOU!
For every single parishioner in Ruislip, RENEW is a unique
opportunity to:
Deepen your personal relationship with God
Review how you put your faith into practice
Review your role as a Christian in the world
The programme will be working at a number if different levels, renewing
the SPIRITUAL life and PASTORAL care
of YOU personally, of your immediate COMMUNITY,
of our PARISH and the DIOCESE, and indeed of
the whole CATHOLIC CHURCH
Aiming High
Specific aims of Renew are:
To help us to know and love our neighbour
To discover how we can care for our neighbours
To learn to pray together
To help us reach out to those who have turned away
from the church
To help spread the Good News of God's love and care
for his people.

So What do we actually Do.... The idea of RENEW sounds great but what,
you will probably
be asking, does it all mean: what are we actually going to be doing? All
is explained on Page 2
- what can we each do personally, what we can do as small communities,
an as a parish. ...and when?
The Renew Programme is set to take place over a three year period starting
in October this
year. It includes five six-week "Seasons", each having a theme
which is taken for the Sunday readings.
The first two Seasons will focus primarily on personal and spiritual renewal
and then in
Seasons 3-5 we will look at revitalising out pastoral care through our
parish
organisa+ions, and move towards Christian unity and a better understanding
of other faiths. The five Seasons and their themes are given in full on
