Many Thanks
To all who came along to the Carol Service last Sunday – to those who read; the groups who sang and to the UCM for the mulled wine and mince pies. It was a wonderful evening.

Church Cleaning
We urgently require 3-4 people to help with cleaning the sanctuary. It takes approx. 1 hour every 12 weeks. Please contact Sarah Bignell  if you can help.

Christmas Message
Please take a copy of the Christmas Message from the back of the Church. This will tell you all our Christmas and New Year service times.

Knights of St Columba Cryptic Quiz
Congratulations to Brian Parks who was the winning entry with 28/50 answers correct. If The Ancient Mariner composes another quiz for next year, it will be slightly less devious so as to encourage more entries to be submitted!

Altar Servers
Thank you for letting us know your availability for serving at Christmas; the rota is displayed on the usual boards this weekend. You are all reminded that you should attend the Annual Festal Mass at 10.30am on the Feast of St Stephen, 26th December, when new servers will be enrolled into the Guild and receive their medals, several Certificates of Merit will be presented and one server will receive her Silver Medal.

Christmas Envelopes
This weekend again Christmas envelopes are available at the back of the Church. These are for your gifts to the priests of our Parish at Christmas. It is this money, together with the Easter collection which makes up our annual salary as priests. Please take an envelope and if you are not here over Christmas, drop it in beforehand.

Tuesday Toddler Group, 1.00-2.30pm
If anyone is interested in coming along to this group, please contact Dee Twomey  as due to low attendance the group may have to close temporarily.

Westminster Year Book 2010 (£4.00)
These are now available from the Repository.

Fourth Sunday of Advent

Fr. Duncan writes:Dear parishioners, This Sunday we celebrate the Fourth Sunday of Advent and begin the last week of our preparation for the celebration of Christmas, the birthday of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. As we prepare for this great feast with cards, presents, food, drinks, decorations, etc., let us not forget our own spiritual preparation. We have our Penitential Service on Monday evening at 7.30pm and there will be seven priests hearing confessions. On Christmas Day at all our Masses my thoughts and prayers will be for the people of our parish, for those visiting our parish at Christmas and for your families, wherever they may be. At this time of year we remember all parishioners who have died and those families who have lost someone close to them during this past year. We appreciate your loss and want you to know that we are thinking of you at this time.
