Parish Priest: Fr. Michael Johnston
Parish Administrator: Nicola Burke
Fr. Michael writes: The image that dominates today’s readings is the image of the shepherd. In the first reading we hear:- “Disaster for the shepherds who lose and scatter the sheep of my pasture”. In the psalm we hear:- “The Lord is my Shepherd”, and in the Gospel, we see the Good Shepherd in action- “He took pity on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd.” All of us are in need of that shepherding because we are all in need one way or another. At times we can be confused, our hearts restless, and our souls empty. All of us are in need of love. There is a great hunger at the centre of our being for someone who will understand us and accept us. Therefore we are all in need of Christ, the Good Shepherd.
