Church
of the Most
....Sacred Heart
73 Pembroke Road, Ruislip, HA4 8NN
......Tel: 01895 632739
Parish Priest: Fr. Michael Johnston
Parish Administrator: Nicola Burke
Fr. Michael writes: There is no such thing as a solitary Christian. Every Christian is linked to Christ and to all other Christians by an invisible bond. This bond is precious. It was Christ, who wished it, and it was He who best described it. He said:- “I am the vine, you are the branches”. Jesus wants his disciples to realise that they are branches of the same vine and that therefore they should form a community of love. That is why there is no such thing as a solitary Christian. The fruit which Christ desires from us is primarily that of unity among ourselves, and it is He who unites us. His life is the “sap” that gives life to us the branches.
Many Congratulations & Prayers
To all the children of our parish who are receiving their First Holy Communion today at 10.00am and 11.30am Masses. Grateful thanks also to the catechists who work so hard with the children and to ensure that the Masses run smoothly.
Flowers in May
This month of May is by tradition the month in the Church dedicated to Mary. In our Church we have a lovely side chapel and statue of Mary. I would encourage those with gardens and flowers to bring flowers in for our side chapel to Mary during the month of May. Our floral ladies group will keep an eye to make sure they are kept fresh. Some people may prefer to buy some flowers rather than take them from their gardens, but either way it would be lovely if during May our side chapel was decorated with flowers.
Sending Forth Mass – Communion
Next Sunday 17th May at 10.00am Mass we welcome back all the children, in their finery, who have received their First Holy Communion over the past 2 weeks. There will be a party in Hesdin Hall after Mass and the communion photographs will be available for sale. We look forward to seeing as many children and their families as possible.
