Parish Priest: Fr. Michael Johnston
Parish Administrator: Nicola Burke
Fr. Michael writes: Today, thanks to the media, we are in danger of being drowned in bad news. It is interesting then to notice how Jesus begins his ministry by announcing good news:- “The Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe the good news”. What is this good news? Essentially that we are loved by God; that forgiveness is available; that recovery is possible; that we can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Repentance is often presented as harsh and sad, but it is positive. It is discovering something wonderful about ourselves, that we have potentialities that we had never discovered before; that we can acquire a new vision and take a new direction. In a word – it means a new life.
Welcome
Today we welcome Fr. Michael O’Boy from the Diocese’s Agency of Evangelisation who will celebrate 10.00am and 11.30am Masses.

Anniversaries
Each week as a matter of practice anniversary names are inserted in the newsletter. Some of these names go back to the 1970’s and are just taken from a book kept over the years. As from next week if an Anniversary Mass is booked for that week, the name will be inserted in the list of anniversaries. Otherwise if you wish a name to be included in the newsletter list of anniversaries you should let Nicola in the Parish Office know at least a week beforehand. If you are booking an anniversary mass please say so on the envelope so that it may be read out as an anniversary of death.
