17th Sunday of the Year
Fr. Michael writes: : Wisdom is the most precious gift a person can have. It is a real treasure. Without it all other things are useless because we will not know how to use them. In the Old Testament reading today, Solomon asked for the gift of wisdom. God was pleased with his request and granted it to him. Wisdom is not the same thing as knowledge. Knowledge is something we have; wisdom is something we are. Unlike knowledge which is acquired through hard work, wisdom is a gift of God. Through the gift of wisdom God communicates to us the meaning of life; and the grandeur of our destiny, which is to be with God. It is the pearl of great price to which the Gospel refers. Once found no-one can rob us of it.

On 31st July we say goodbye to Fr. Angel who has been with us for one month. Many grateful thanks to him for his help here in the parish. Fr. Joán will arrive on 31st July from Spain and stay until 2nd September.
