16th Sunday of the Year
Fr. Michael writes: : The message of today’s parable is something that Jesus lived throughout his ministry. He crossed barriers and reached out to all classes of people, mixing with pharisees; samaritans; politicians; sinners; tax collectors. Religious separatism was something Jesus refused to tolerate, making it his business to seek out and save the lost and never condemning anyone. The message of the parable both challenges our Church and the world today. It is not the place of the Church or individual members to judges others or set up inquisitions. As Christians we do not have the authority to pronounce judgement on anyone. The last word cannot be said about anyone and then it is God’s part, not ours to say it.
Welcome
To Fr. Kevin O’Toole, S.V.D. who will celebrate 10.00am and 11.30am Masses today.
Congratulations
To Joan and Noel Hendricks who today celebrate their 68th Wedding Anniversary. What a wonderful achievement. Please pray for them.
