Newsletters
The last weekend for newsletters will be next weekend. There are no newsletters during the month of August. Mass intentions will be on the boards in the usual way.

Are You Thinking about Becoming a Catholic?
The weekly sessions of the R.C.I.A. begin in October and carry on until post Easter. This group consists of others exploring the idea of becoming a Roman Catholic; of a theme each week exploring the understanding of faith in the Roman Catholic Church and of a priest and one or two parishioners to help you. No one will put pressure on you and you are free to leave at any stage if you feel it is not for you. If you would like to know more, then pick up a leaflet from the table in the porch or speak to Fr. Michael

Hesdin Hall Key Holders
For insurance purposes we need to know who has a key for Hesdin Hall. If you or your group or organisation do have one or more keys, would you please drop a note or an e-mail to Nicola Burke at the Parish Office. If everybody cooperates, this will hopefully ensure we have a full list of key holders and thus will prevent us from having to install a new lock.

Sacred Heart Primary School Applications
All forms for places at the Sacred Heart School for next year will be signed by Fr. Agustin or myself on Saturday 13th September from 2.00pm-4.00pm at the Presbytery. Forms will not be signed at any other time for whatever reason or circumstance. I would therefore urge you to treat this date as a priority should you wish to have a school form signed.

Preparation for First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion - 2008/2009
Parents of all children who will be starting Year 3 in September 2008, and who belong to this parish, are invited to attend an information and registration meeting at the Hesdin Hall on Thursday 18th September at 8.00pm.

16th Sunday of the Year

Fr. Michael writes: : The message of today’s parable is something that Jesus lived throughout his ministry. He crossed barriers and reached out to all classes of people, mixing with pharisees; samaritans; politicians; sinners; tax collectors. Religious separatism was something Jesus refused to tolerate, making it his business to seek out and save the lost and never condemning anyone. The message of the parable both challenges our Church and the world today. It is not the place of the Church or individual members to judges others or set up inquisitions. As Christians we do not have the authority to pronounce judgement on anyone. The last word cannot be said about anyone and then it is God’s part, not ours to say it.

Welcome
To Fr. Kevin O’Toole, S.V.D. who will celebrate 10.00am and 11.30am Masses today.

Congratulations
To Joan and Noel Hendricks who today celebrate their 68th Wedding Anniversary. What a wonderful achievement. Please pray for them.

Parish Picnic
This years Parish Picnic takes place today from 2.00pm-5.00pm at Eastcote Hockey Club, Kings College Fields. Lots of fun and games for children and adults. Bar facilities at clubhouse, just bring along your own picnic. All are welcome. Do join us.
